My name is Lorna Bates. I currently hold an MA in Art Practice and studying for a PGCE at Glyndwr University in Wrexham.

Artist preferring to be behind the camera rather than in front of it!

I trained at Glasgow School of Art in the 1980’s and have shown my work in galleries all over Britain and abroad. The exhibition catalogue produced by The National Portrait Gallery of Scotland for the show New Scottish Photography was translated into Spanish for its venue in Madrid.

More recently a small painting was selected for The Wrexham Open 2018, held here at my home town at Ty Pawb (Everybody’s House) and UnDegUn (number 11).

You can see recent work at Edge 2 which was held at the White Box Gallery in Pontio’s Innovation Space at Bangor University. From 19th Jan – 10th Feb 2019.
