Graduated with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art from Glasgow School of Art, then a MA in Art Practice from Wrexham Glyndwr University. Exhibited widely both in the UK and internationally. A full CV of exhibitions, publications and projects is available on request.

Through the media of drawing, painting, photography, artists’ book and pattern, I explore notions of nostalgia, reminiscence and belonging, whilst often challenging the traditional “rules” of pattern, such as repetition and regularity. In doing so transforming pattern from the ornamentation decorating an object to a subject in its own right, evoking emotional response through association and cultural connections.

During those long months of lockdown I took my fascination for pattern to the next level. I trained in Surface Pattern Design and am now fluent in Adobe Illustrator.

Whilst Maker in Residence at Ty Pawb in Wrexham, my hand painted designs took the interest of a print studio in the North of England and I now produce exclusive hand painted repeats for use in the home interiors and wallpaper industries. However many computer based seamless repeats seen on this website are available for licence. If you don’t see what you want, I thrive on a creative challenge and happily consider commissions and collaborations. I enjoy nothing more than getting my fine art imagination working on solving contemporary design challenges.

My practice is inspired by history and pattern. Not only world and art history but also the social domestic history of the individual, from the humble inherited coffee pot, or the scenes of somewhere visited on holiday to childhood memories of place and people. I collaborate with clients to make bespoke artwork or designs that truly make a difference to their lives.
